Don't struggle in silence. You can live well with a mental health condition, as long as you open up to somebody about it

How Connect 2 Thrive began

🌿 Why Connect 2 Thrive was created

Connect 2 Thrive was created from a deep commitment to providing trauma-informed, neuro-affirming therapy in Yarrawonga and online across Australia.

Over more than 20 years of working across education, community services, and clinical practice, I have supported children, adolescents, adults, and families navigating complex life experiences, including trauma, adversity, and neurodivergence. Through this work, I saw both the impact of these experiences—and the gaps in support available.

What became clear was the need for therapy that is not “one size fits all.”
Support needs to be individualised, relational, and grounded in an understanding of how experiences shape the mind, brain, and body.

Connect 2 Thrive was created as a space where people can feel safe, understood, and supported to make sense of their experiences, at their own pace.

🌿 A trauma-informed and relational approach

My work is grounded in the understanding that experiences—particularly those involving stress, adversity, or trauma—can impact how we feel, think, relate, and function in daily life.

Through a trauma-informed, neuro-affirming, and person-centred approach, I support individuals to:

  • Build a sense of safety and regulation
  • Understand their experiences more deeply
  • Strengthen connection with themselves and others
  • Move toward meaningful and sustainable change

This work integrates evidence-based approaches, including EMDR and relational therapies, with a strong focus on the connection between the mind, brain, and body.

🌿 Why early support matters

While I work across the lifespan, early support remains an important part of my practice.

When children and families receive support early, it can:

  • Reduce the long-term impact of stress, adversity, or trauma
  • Support emotional regulation and development
  • Strengthen relationships and attachment
  • Improve confidence, learning, and social connection

Early support is not about “fixing” a child—it is about understanding their experience and supporting the systems around them.

🌿 Supporting individuals, families, and systems

I take a holistic and relational approach, recognising that people exist within families, relationships, and broader systems.

This means:

  • Supporting individuals across all stages of life
  • Working with parents and caregivers to strengthen connection
  • Understanding behaviour through a trauma-informed and neuro-affirming lens
  • Creating meaningful and practical change within everyday life

🌿 A space for healing and growth

At Connect to Thrive, the focus is not just on reducing distress, but on supporting integration, connection, and the capacity to thrive.

I believe that:

  • Healing is possible, even after significant adversity
  • People are not broken—they are responding to their experiences
  • With the right support, individuals can move toward greater understanding, regulation, and wellbeing

You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out.

This is a place to begin.
